Overview

Designed to improve participant knowledge and practice across a broad spectrum of topics, this symposium features presentations from Jefferson Health and University leaders and physicians, as well as alumni physicians.

Successful Completion
To successfully complete this activity, the required evaluation must be completed no later than Friday, March 17, 2023. Thereafter, the evaluation will no longer be available and credits will not be issued. No refunds will be offered for failure to complete the required evaluation by the stated deadline.



Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Recognize the value of advanced integrative medicine with its wide range of approaches, including functional medicine, mind-body therapies, and nutritional therapies.
  2. Formulate solutions to address disparities in healthcare.
  3. Combine clinical knowledge and current research in adjunctive therapies, such as medical marijuana, in the care of patients.
  4. Measure the role and significance of philanthropy in the operation of a non-profit hospital and tertiary care center.
  5. Discuss new technologies and virtual health solutions that can be used in the practice setting.
  6. Use newer pharmaceutical and procedural therapies to personalize management of common conditions.
  7. Use a more comprehensive approach to a common chief complaint seen across specialties.
  8. Analyze different arenas in medicine where bias may exist, including research and patient care.
  9. Utilize strategies to deliver care in a more sensitive and equitable manner to all populations.
  10. Summarize up-to-date literature regarding emerging therapies in common conditions encountered by most physicians on a routine basis.
  11. Compare strategies for evaluation and treatment of a symptom with an often multifactorial pathophysiology.
  12. Summarize up-to-date literature regarding various treatment modalities for joint pain.
  13. Compare each treatment modality in terms of their success rate and risks/benefits of each.
  14. Practice making individualized recommendations regarding the management of joint pain.

  • Exhibitor is not providing commercial support for this educational activity. Exhibitor is purchasing exhibit space.
  • Exhibits are intended for informational purposes, products should not be sold onsite or through the virtual exhibit hall.
  • TJU and the exhibitor acknowledge and agree that the exhibitor may be subject to Section 6002 of the Affordable Care Act, which added Section 1128G to the Social Security Act, and its implementing regulations codified in 42 CFR 402 &403 (Collectively the Sunshine Act). In-Person Exhibitors

  • Exhibitor activities are restricted to the allocated space at the conference site. Distribution of these materials may not be done anywhere else in the activity area, in the activity meeting space, or at the entrances to activity meeting spaces.
  • All exhibits must be tabletop or portable in nature.
  • Photography by exhibitors that includes photos of the overall conference and/or attendees is prohibited.
  • Exhibitors may observe educational sessions but must refrain from participating in the activity.
  • No recordings of the scientific sessions on behalf of the exhibitor's company is permitted.
  • All displays must enter/exit the hotel through the receiving entrance and/or security office (at the loading dock). Delivery and pick-up times is the responsibility of the exhibitor and must be coordinated with the hotel in advance.

Cancellation

Should TJU cancel this activity for any reason, TJU will not be responsible for any airfare, hotel, and/or other cost incurred by exhibitors. It is suggested the exhibitors purchase their own travel insurance.

Refunds

  • Request for exhibitor refund must be submitted in writing at least two weeks prior to the start date of the activity. No refund will be given after this period. Cancellations received prior to the two-week cancellation date will incur a 10% administrative fee charge.
  • Exhibitors who fail to attend the conference are responsible for the entire exhibitor fee.
  • All refunds will be processed after the conclusion of the conference.
