This annual symposium features the latest on epidemiology and prevention, innovations in acute stroke intervention and new surgical technique, updated medical management guidelines, and what's new with rehabilitation and nursing care for the stroke patient.



Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Recommend lifestyle modifications to patients to reduce the risk of primary and secondary stroke by examining the epidemiology and risk factors for stroke
  2. Identify new imaging technology and implementation strategies for screening patients for acute stroke, primary and secondary stroke prevention and risk factor control.
  3. Identify the latest developments in remote stroke interventions and strategies for remote monitoring.
  4. Formulate an appropriate management plan for blood pressure control in both ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke.
  5. Make use of new prescribing, treatment and classification guidelines for stroke into practice.
  6. Analyze the latest developments in thrombectomy for acute ischemic stroke patients.

Successful Completion

To successfully complete this activity, the required evaluation must be completed no later than May 1, 2023. Thereafter, the evaluation will no longer be available and credits will not be issued. No refunds will be offered for failure to complete the required evaluation by the stated deadline.

Cancellation Policy

Requests for refunds must be submitted in writing and received in the Office of CPD two weeks prior to the start date of the course. There will be no refunds after this period.*  Cancellations notified before the two week time frame will incur a 25% administration fee (with a minimum of $20).  Registrants who fail to attend the conference are responsible for the entire fee.  All refunds will be processed after the conference.  The University reserves the right to cancel or postpone this course due to unforeseen circumstances.  In the event of cancellation or postponement, the University will refund registration fees, but is not responsible for related costs or expenses to participants, including cancellation fees assessed by hotels, airlines or travel agencies.
