Overview

This symposium is collaboratively planned and implemented by Thomas Jefferson University and the University of Pennsylvania.

It offers up-to-date content on topics relevant to today’s primary care practice environment. Attendees will engage with experts who share the latest insights on common diseases, conditions, and issues faced by primary care providers (PCPs), including screening, prevention, treatment, and management. 

Successful Completion
To successfully complete this activity, the required evaluation must be completed no later than Thursday, July 10, 2025. Thereafter, the evaluation will no longer be available and credits will not be issued. No refunds will be offered for failure to complete the required evaluation by the stated deadline.


Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, healthcare team members will be able to:

  1. Defend the rationale for the selection of different therapies based on currently available up to date evidence based data and individual patient profiles.
  2. Discuss current diagnostic and therapeutic options for common illnesses and injuries seen in primary care practice.
  3. Apply latest evidence-based guidelines for disease screening and prevention.
  4. Apply latest guidelines for up to date chronic disease management.
  5. Explain the use/misuse of medicine, including but not limited to antibiotics and psychotropics.
  6. Identify social determinants of health regarding disparate communities.
  7. Identify opportunities to address health care disparities through primary care.
  8. Apply the concept of shared decision making discussions with our patients before automatically initiating treatments, therapies, especially regarding primary care prevention strategies.
  9. Use evidence based approaches when dealing with provider self-help, health and well being.
  10. Explain important and relevant clinical issues in cardiovascular disease prevention, screening and management.
  11. Practice keeping current with the pertinent evidence-based medical literature.
  12. Summarize the latest data on upstream risk factors for atrial fibrillation and its extreme relevance to primary care practice.

Exhibitor Rules

  • Exhibitor is not providing commercial support for this educational activity. Exhibitor is purchasing exhibit space.
  • Exhibits are intended for informational purposes, products should not be sold through the exhibit hall.
    TJU and the exhibitor acknowledge and agree that the exhibitor may be subject to Section 6002 of the Affordable Care Act, which added Section 1128G to the Social Security Act, and its implementing regulations codified in 42 CFR 402 &403 (Collectively the Sunshine Act). Exhibiting companies are solely responsible for collecting any information about actions within their virtual exhibit space that constitutes a payment or transfer of value to a covered participant, which is required to reported under the Sunshine Act.
  • Exhibitors may observe educational sessions but must refrain from participating in the activity.
  • No recordings of the scientific sessions on behalf of the exhibitor's company is permitted.

Application Deadline
Applications for exhibits will be accepted through June 6, 2025. After June 6, 2025, applications may be accepted on a case by case basis.

Cancellation and Refunds
In the event that the symposium is canceled by the organizers, exhibit fees will be refunded in full, however Thomas Jefferson University is not responsible for other expenses incurred by the exhibitor.

In the event an exhibitor cancels participation, refunds will be made as follows:

  • Prior to the deadline of June 6, 2025 a refund will be given minus a 10% administration fee.
  • After June 6, 2025 no refund will be given.
  • Exhibitors who are absent from the conference will not receive a refund.
  • Exhibit cancellations must be made in writing. Send cancellation notice to [email protected] and include name of activity in subject line.
