Overview

Designed to improve participant knowledge and practice across a broad spectrum of topics, this symposium features presentations from Jefferson Health and University leaders and physicians, as well as alumni physicians.

Successful Completion
To successfully complete this activity, the required evaluation must be completed no later than Wednesday, February 21, 2024. Thereafter, the evaluation will no longer be available and credits will not be issued. No refunds will be offered for failure to complete the required evaluation by the stated deadline.


Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, healthcare team members will be able to:

  1. Recognize the value and application of advanced integrative medicine with its wide range of approaches, including functional medicine, mind-body therapies, and nutritional therapies.
  2. Outline the extraintestinal manifestations of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).
  3. Describe the role and significance of philanthropy in the operation of a non-profit hospital and tertiary care center.
  4. Describe how healthcare systems are adapting to personalized medicine and increasing financial burdens.
  5. Examine how global environmental changes are affecting the practice of medicine, specifically as it applies to climate change and antimicrobial resistance patterns.
  6. Summarize new technology and procedural advances in patient care.
  7. Identify updates in the care and management of patients with common neurologic or psychiatric illnesses.
  8. Identify disparities in healthcare and solutions to close the gap.
  9. Explore how the study of health systems science affects disparities in healthcare.
  10. Compare the evaluation and management of lower back pain from the perspective of various specialties, including the differences, the benefits, and the best algorithmic approach.

In-Person Exhibitors

  • Exhibitor activities are restricted to the allocated space at the conference site. Distribution of these materials may not be done anywhere else in the activity area, in the activity meeting space, or at the entrances to activity meeting spaces.
  • All exhibits must be tabletop or portable in nature.
  • Photography by exhibitors that includes photos of the overall conference and/or attendees is prohibited.
  • Exhibitors may observe educational sessions but must refrain from participating in the activity.
  • No recordings of the scientific sessions on behalf of the exhibitor's company is permitted.
  • All displays must enter/exit the hotel through the receiving entrance and/or security office (at the loading dock). Delivery and pick-up times is the responsibility of the exhibitor and must be coordinated with the hotel in advance.

Cancellation

Should TJU cancel this activity for any reason, TJU will not be responsible for any airfare, hotel, and/or other cost incurred by exhibitors. It is suggested the exhibitors purchase their own travel insurance.

Refunds

  • Request for exhibitor refund must be submitted in writing at least two weeks prior to the start date of the activity. No refund will be given after this period. Cancellations received prior to the two-week cancellation date will incur a 10% administrative fee charge.
  • Exhibitors who fail to attend the conference are responsible for the entire exhibitor fee.
  • All refunds will be processed after the conclusion of the conference.
