Overview
This interdisciplinary symposium provides the latest updates on topics in neuroscience including stroke, epilepsy, neuroimaging, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis, spine tumors and more. Join expert faculty as they discuss innovations in preventing, treating and managing neurological conditions. The faculty will address challenges and current controversies in spine, functional neurosurgery, neuro-oncology, and neurovascular surgery. Panel discussions on the futures of these four areas will be explored. Each panel will examine how advances in these disciplines can significantly impact neurosurgical practice. Additionally, a resident research competition will provide an analytical review of current research endeavors.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Evaluate medical interventions and aggressive intervention for cerebrovascular injuries based on location
  2. Explain use of new advances in robotics, artificial intelligence and imaging in spine and spinal cord surgery
  3. Apply new protocols for the management of TBI patients with ICP and brain oxygen monitors
  4. Evaluate current patient strategies to align with updated practices in neurosurgery

Thomas Jefferson University is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Physicians: This educational activity is designated for a maximum of 4.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits TM . Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Cancellation Policy

Requests for refunds must be submitted in writing and received in the Office of CPD two weeks prior to the start date of the course. There will be no refunds after this period.*  Cancellations notified before the two week time frame will incur a 25% administration fee (with a minimum of $20).  Registrants who fail to attend the conference are responsible for the entire fee.  All refunds will be processed after the conference.  The University reserves the right to cancel or postpone this course due to unforeseen circumstances.  In the event of cancellation or postponement, the University will refund registration fees, but is not responsible for related costs or expenses to participants, including cancellation fees assessed by hotels, airlines or travel agencies.

Union League Dress Code:

For Men
Jacket and tie are strongly preferred. Jacket and collared shirt are required at all times on the first floor members-only section of the League House.
Not Permitted: turtlenecks shirts, collared shirts open more than one button, untucked shirts, jeans, t-shirts, sneakers, and flip-flops.

For Women
Business suits, tailored pant or skirt ensembles and dresses.
Not Permitted: spandex, open midriffs, halter tops, shorts, leggings, extremely short hemlines (not more than 3” above the knee), jeans, t-shirts, sneakers, and flip-flops.
Business casual attire: Defined as a collared shirt and pressed slacks for men and comparable attire for women

Unacceptable Attire
The following attire is never acceptable on the first or second floors of the League House: jeans, denim wear, tee shirts, athletic wear, tank, halter, or jogging tops, untucked shirts, collared shirts unbuttoned more than one button or two inches from the neck-line, wrinkled clothing, shorts, baseball caps, spandex, open midriffs, leggings, extremely short hemlines, sneakers, extremely casual or beach footwear.

Members and guests staying at the Inn of the League or using the Fitness Center may enter and leave the League House in attire that would not otherwise comply with the Rules of the House Committee only to go to or leave from the Fitness Center or the overnight rooms only by using the Sansom Street entrance and the elevators to and from the overnight rooms.

Exceptions
Private Dining/Meeting Rooms: Business casual attire is acceptable in private meeting rooms or for private dining events.
