Overview

The 30th annual Jefferson Anesthesia in Big Sky, Montana offers a diverse, comprehensive program with world-renowned experts.

The conference includes didactic lectures, problem-based learning discussions, interactive panels and a regional anesthesia/point-of-care ultrasound workshop.

Learners will receive updates and information on current trends in regional anesthesia, cardiac anesthesia, medical billing, blood management, obstetric anesthesia, and medical journal integrity. The conference will provide learners with the tools to utilize novel regional anesthesia techniques as well as chronic pain procedures for the non-pain provider, recommendations to optimize billing and coding and improve compliance, as well as updates in the perioperative management of patients with cardiac disease presenting for non-cardiac surgery.

In a live workshop, learners will have hands-on experience with ultrasound-guided peripheral nerve and fascial plane blocks and point-of-care ultrasound where our nationally recognized faculty will teach the most up to date trends in regional anesthesia. Updates in obstetric anesthesia, perioperative management of the geriatric patient, technological advances and medical ethics will also be covered.

Successful Completion
To successfully complete this activity, the required evaluation must be completed no later than Wednesday, February 25, 2026. Thereafter, the evaluation will no longer be available and credits will not be issued. No refunds will be offered for failure to complete the required evaluation by the stated deadline.

  4. Define the most valuable regional anesthesia techniques in pediatric anesthesia.
  5. Discuss negotiation tactics to support the use and demonstrate the value of point-of-ultrasound.
  6. Examine the evidence of current lung isolation techniques.
  7. Examine the recent changes to the anticoagulation guidelines for regional anesthesia and how it will affect clinical practice.
  8. Analyze the literature for the most impactful research in regional anesthesia and pain medicine and its impact on clinical practice.
  9. Analyze the literature for the most impactful research in pediatric anesthesia and its impact on clinical practice.
  10. Analyze the literature for the most impactful research in cardiac anesthesia and its impact on clinical practice.
  11. Analyze the impact of journal retraction and best practice methods to maintain research integrity.
  12. Discuss the approach to work-up and management of patients with heart failure presenting for non-cardiac surgery.
  13. Analyze how past innovations, challenges, and ethical considerations have shaped modern anesthetic practice and future directions.
  14. Discuss the approach to work-up and management of patients with pulmonary hypertension presenting for non-cardiac surgery.
