Overview

Participants will develop strategies and skills for addressing the larger barriers and challenges women face regarding unconscious gender bias in hiring practices and promotions, stereotypes, and salary equity as well as their own self-identified leadership dilemmas or problems using curated healthcare related topics and content exercises and simulations.

Using an Inside/Outside approach, leadership begins with greater self-awareness for better self-management Designed to advance women’s leadership in healthcare, this program will address the professional and personal skills required to lead in today's complex health care environment and is designed to support women leadership in various stages of their careers. This interactive, professional development program is designed to teach the crucial communication skills required to lead a team and influence change within an organization.

Participants will learn:

  • How to flex personality preferences and leadership styles using learning from the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI®) and Emotional Quotient Instrument (EQi-2.0©) assessments
  • Why leveraging connection, courage and accountability can influence and develop a team and impact organizational culture
  • How to actively plan their career path, identify challenges, and develop strategies to address them
  • The importance of Allyship in gender equity and the tools for speaking up
  • How to inspire other women to lead through storytelling, highlighting triumphs and challenges
  • The process and benefits of self-coaching and development planning to advance career opportunities
  • Negotiation skills to achieve shared interests and influence highly collaborative teams
  • How to lead through uncertainty and the importance of practicing self-care

Successful Completion

To successfully complete this activity, the required evaluation must be completed no later than Wednesday, June 26, 2024. Thereafter, the evaluation will no longer be available and credits will not be issued. No refunds will be offered for failure to complete the required evaluation by the stated deadline.


Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, healthcare team members will be able to:

  1. Employ crucial communication skills and strategies required to lead a team and influence change.
  2. Identify different personality preferences and leadership styles based findings from the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI®) and Emotional Quotient Instrument (EQi-2.0®) assessments to influence team and leadership communication.
  3. Discuss how connections, courage and accountability can influence and develop a team and impact organizational culture.
  4. Apply negotiation strategies to achieve shared interests and influence collaboration.
  5. Recognize the benefits of coaching, mentorship, and allyship to advance career opportunities.
  6. Develop strategies to identify challenges and build solutions to thrive in your career and in life.
  7. Identify how self-awareness and personal values support and develop an authentic leadership style.
