Overview

Advances in Mind-Body Medicine Annual Conference is specifically designed for healthcare professionals interested in using integrative approaches to provide patient-centered care.

Daniel A. Monti, MD, MBA, The Ellen and Ron Caplan Chair of the Department of Integrative Medicine and Nutritional Science and CEO, Marcus Institute of Integrative Health at the Thomas Jefferson University has designed this multidisciplinary program to offer participants a unique opportunity to learn from leading experts in the field of Mind-Body Medicine. This conference will cover the management and treatment of patients using this emerging and expanding approach to patient-centered care.

This activity will introduce the necessary framework for developing a patient-centered approach for integrating mind-body therapies and recommendations based on the latest data. A review of current evidence for topics will be conducted in mind-body medicine, such as the roles of various modalities in the treatment of mental health issues, pain management, and stress-related problems. The practical integration of these practices into the office visit will also be covered in this activity.

This year's event features topics on:

  • Brain Health
  • Stress & Immune Health
  • Mindfulness Based Interventions
  • Hypnosis for Pain Management
  • Advanced mind-body strategies for specialized populations

Successful Completion

To successfully complete this activity, the required evaluation must be completed no later than Tuesday, August 1, 2023. Thereafter, the evaluation will no longer be available and credits will not be issued. No refunds will be offered for failure to complete the required evaluation by the stated deadline.



Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Build the necessary framework for developing a patient-centered approach to use and recommend mind-body therapies, based on the latest data.
  2. Examine the current evidence in support of various modalities in mind-body medicine, with a focus on treatments for mental health issues, pain management, and stress-related problems.
  3. Evaluate the practical integration of these practices into the office visit.
  4. Analyze case samples to identify appropriate mind-body treatment modalities.
  5. Experiment with multiple mind-body treatment modalities.

In support of improving patient care, Thomas Jefferson University is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

 

Physicians: This educational activity is designated for a maximum of 20.75 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Nurses: This activity awards 20.75 nursing contact hours. 

Psychologists: This activity awards 20.75 credits.

 
Continuing Education (CE) credits for psychologists are provided through the co-sponsorship of the American Psychological Association (APA) Office of Continuing Education in Psychology (CEP). The APA CEP Office maintains responsibility for the content of the programs.
