Overview
Activities focus on presentation of research findings and the implications for clinicians working with persons who have a variety of physical disabilities. Select sessions will include latest research on the use of technology and robotics.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, healthcare team members will be able to:

  1. Discuss the current state of evidence based treatment for cognitive and communication deficits, motor deficits and emotional/psychosocial problems in individuals with stroke or TBI.
  2. List types of cognitive and communication problems, movement difficulties and emotional/psychosocial issues seen in patients with stroke and TBI.
  3. Identify effective treatments for individuals presenting cognitive and communication disorders, movement difficulties and emotional/psychosocial issues according to emerging medical research.

Accreditation

 

In support of improving patient care, Thomas Jefferson University is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

 

Physicians: This educational activity is designated for a maximum of 1.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits TM . Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.


Psychologists: This activity awards 1.00 CE credit.

Continuing Education (CE) credits for psychologists are provided through the co-sponsorship of the American Psychological Association (APA) Office of Continuing Education in Psychology (CEP). The APA CEP Office maintains responsibility for the content of the programs.

 

Other Healthcare Professionals: This educational activity is designated for 1.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit TM. Participants should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
