A recurring meeting to discuss bariatric surgery complications, new innovations, complex case management, update on disease and treatment.

1. Review current literature for obesity and obesity surgery related topics using journal articles and book chapters combined with case studies.
2. Comply with national standards of continuing education for bariatric surgery.
3. Provide cost-effective healthcare while improving quality and increasing practice value.
4. Teach the audience of concepts of Surgical Quality, data analysis and process improvement.
5. Improve the patient experience through quality and improved efficiencies.
6. Meet the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery American College of Surgeons continuing education requirements.

 

In support of improving patient care, Thomas Jefferson University is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

ABIM MOC

Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 1.00 MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.
