Overview

The Advances in Integrative Nutrition Annual Conference is specifically designed for healthcare professionals interested in using integrative nutritional approaches to provide patient-centered care. Daniel A. Monti, MD, MBA, The Ellen and Ron Caplan Chair of the Department of Integrative Medicine and Nutritional Science and CEO, Marcus Institute of Integrative Health at the Thomas Jefferson University has designed this multidisciplinary program to offer participants a unique opportunity to learn from leading experts in the field of Integrative Nutrition. This year's featured topics include Whole Person Health, Creating High Impact Nutrition Programs, Nutrition and Metabolic Health, Diet and Brain Health, Nutrients as Pharmaceuticals, Gut Microbiome, and Advanced Nutritional Strategies for Specialized Populations.

Successful Completion
To successfully complete this activity, the required evaluation must be completed no later than Monday, December 26, 2022. Thereafter, the evaluation will no longer be available and credits will not be issued. No refunds will be offered for failure to complete the required evaluation by the stated deadline.


Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Identify lifestyle and behavior change(s) designed to improve overall patient health and wellness.
  2. Evaluate the scientific advances related to the gut microbiome.
  3. Discuss microorganisms and their effect on health and well-being.
  4. Apply the foundations of clinical nutrition.
  5. Compare the various popular diets and evidence basis for each.
  6. Analyze the role of peptides in maintaining homeostasis and in therapeutic application.
  7. Explain the role of nutrition in brain health.
  8. Explain the current research on the potential effects of vitamins, nutrients, and supplements on brain health and physiology.
  9. Evaluate the status of nutrients and supplements form a regulatory perspective.

Conference Recordings
Conference recordings will be available for viewing for credit until 30 days after the last day of the conference. You must sign in to the live program to be counted as attended to earn credit for the videos.


Accreditation

Daily Credit Count
For all credit types:

Day 1: 7.25 credit
Day 2: 7.0 credit

Participants may claim .25 credit one time for the completion of the required evaluation.

 


 

In support of improving patient care, Thomas Jefferson University is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

 

Physicians: This educational activity is designated for a maximum of 14.50 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM . Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Nurses: This activity awards 14.50 nursing contact hours.

 Other Healthcare Professionals: This educational activity is designated for 14.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit TM. Participants should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. 

Credit count includes 15 minutes for completion of the required evaluation.


Additional Information

Cancellation Policy
Requests for refunds must be submitted in writing and received in the Office of CPD two weeks prior to the start date of the course. There will be no refunds after this period.*  Cancellations notified before the two week time frame will incur a 25% administration fee (with a minimum of $20).  Registrants who fail to attend the conference are responsible for the entire fee.  All refunds will be processed after the conference.  The University reserves the right to cancel or postpone this course due to unforeseen circumstances.  In the event of cancellation or postponement, the University will refund registration fees, but is not responsible for related costs or expenses to participants, including cancellation fees assessed by hotels, airlines or travel agencies.
