The Pulmonary Combined Lectures is designed to build on our knowledge base, increase awareness of respiratory complications and improve our future competence and performance. Through Peer discussion, this lecture will allow for fellows education, while helping to identify and treat common causes of morbidity and mortality associated with respiratory and critically ill patients. Our goal is to identify the factors that can be improved on and/or changed in an attempt to reduce future complications and deaths amongst these type patients. From an educational standpoint, the learners are asked questions during the conference to determine their level of understanding of many common pulmonary and critical care medicine principles and reinforce practices that minimize medical errors and adverse patient events. Facilitate physician and other healthcare professional performance beyond their basic competency, assist participants in effectively evaluating their own educational goals.

1. Analyze recent advances in Pulmonary Medicine & Critical Care Medicine in clinical practices across the multiple disciplines.
2. Incorporate perspectives of multiple disciplines into decision-making on behalf of patients through structured plans for patient care.
3. Discuss areas for future research and appropriate methods to address these needs.
4. Improve communications as a team, caring for Pulmonary / Critical Care Medicine.

In support of improving patient care, Thomas Jefferson University is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Physicians: This educational activity is designated for a maximum of 1.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits ^TM . Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Other Healthcare Professionals: This educational activity is designated for 1.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit ^TM. Participants should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
