Overview

Neurosurgery is advancing at an unprecedented pace, yet the integration of new discoveries into everyday clinical practice often lags behind. To bridge this gap, clinicians need timely, critical evaluation of the most impactful developments across the field.

Thomas Jefferson University is internationally recognized for leadership in neurosurgical research, innovation, and clinical excellence. Our faculty, along with alumni from our residency and fellowship programs, are consistently at the forefront of shaping modern neurosurgical practice.

This hybrid activity brings together experts to highlight the latest breakthroughs in neurosurgery and demonstrate how practitioners can effectively incorporate these advances to elevate patient care. Sessions will cover major areas including neurovascular disease, neuro-oncology, complex spine surgery, brain–computer interface technology, neuroimaging, and functional neurosurgery. Participants will also explore strategies for evaluating clinical practice, enhancing patient safety, and reducing medical errors through quality-improvement tools.

This activity is designed for all clinicians who care for patients with neurological conditions—neurosurgeons, neurologists, neuro-intensivists, neuroradiologists, anesthesiologists, nurses, physician assistants, and referring providers. Anyone involved in the management of neurological illness will benefit from the insights shared in this comprehensive educational event.

Successful Completion
To successfully complete this activity, the required evaluation must be completed no later than Thursday, July 9, 2026. Thereafter, the evaluation will no longer be available and credits will not be issued. No refunds will be offered for failure to complete the required evaluation by the stated deadline.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, healthcare team members will be able to:

  1. Evaluate the application of novel cerebrovascular treatment options for the management of common neurovascular conditions, including streamlined, multidisciplinary management of ischemic cerebrovascular disease, intracranial aneurysms, and arteriovenous malformations.
  2. Appraise novel therapies for neoplastic processes of the central nervous system, including endoscopic, minimally invasive, and complex cranial approaches.
  3. Employ up-to-date treatment strategies for the management of spinal cord injury and degenerative disease of the spine using and evidence-based approach.
  4. Interpret the risks and benefits of various neuromodulatory, neurorestorative, ablative, and treatment strategies for neurodegenerative conditions, chronic pain, and seizure disorders.
  5. Assess methods for improving quality of neurosurgical care, including patient safety, outcome measurements, medical errors, and multidisciplinary communication.
  6. Compare relative risks and benefits of various neurosurgical treatment options for various complex neurovascular, spinal, and oncological pathologies.
  7. Employ a multidisciplinary approach to optimize care for patients with complex neurosurgical illness.
