Overview

The 11th Annual Philadelphia Spine Summit has been developed through a unique collaboration between the Sidney Kimmel Medical College, Departments of Orthopaedic Surgery and Neurological Surgery, the Rothman Institute and the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine, Departments of Orthopaedic Spine Surgery and Neurological Surgery.

The course has been designed for spine surgeons and advanced practice providers seeking active discussions concerning the management of spinal disorders and who are interested in debating technological advancements, controversial spine topics and health policy issues.

Keynote Speaker: Andrew C. Hecht MD

Dr. Andrew Hecht is the Chief of Spine Surgery for the Mount Sinai Health System and Chief of Spine Surgery at the Mount Sinai Hospital. He also serves as Director of the Spine Center of Mount Sinai Doctors, the Faculty Practice, and Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and of Neurologic Surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.

He holds dual appointments in orthopaedic surgery and neurosurgery.  Dr. Hecht is the spine surgical consultant to the New York Jets, New York Islanders, and New York Dragons professional teams, as well as numerous collegiate teams at Hofstra University and Molloy College.

Dr. Hecht is the Director of the NFL Spine Care Program for retired players at Mount Sinai (one of five sites across the country) and is the only orthopaedic spine surgeon in the northeast to be a part of this program.   He also directs the acute spinal injury program for the NY jets. Dr. Hecht is only one of two orthopaedic surgeons of the NFL Brain and Spine Committee.
